Extensions 203: Working with Wigs, Hairpieces and Hair Enhancements

More and more, wigs, half-wigs and hairpieces are becoming the choice for a quick fashion change. They are also the right choice for those looking to enhance thinning hair, particularly when other forms of hair extension are not indicated. With so many hair and wig choices in today’s marketplace, in answer to a growing demand we are pleased to bring you our comprehensive program on the choosing, fitting and styling of wigs, hairpieces and hair enhancements. Learn inside tips and techniques used by leading industry hair replacement and wig specialists. 

During this unique one-day program, you will learn to choose the right wig for different face shapes and skin tones. Working hands-on you will learn to prepare your own wig using the proper tools and materials to create the style you want to achieve. You will be introduced to different fashion hairpieces and ponytails, wigs, falls and half-wigs, toupees and custom pieces and learn how to prepare and attach them.

This class will cover the following topics: basic head and skin preparation for wigs, taking head measurements, handling and application of pieces, washing and roller setting of wigs, colouring of wigs, the pros and cons of choosing synthetic vs. human hair, how to de-cuticlize and groom unruly human hair wigs, reshaping and curling synthetics, how to attach toupees vs. wigs, how use different methods to apply wigs, cleansing, washing and storing of wigs, distinguishing between mono-top, hand tied and permatease, cleaning of human and synthetic wigs, cutting and removing density.

This program includes theory, cutting and styling demonstrations. You will learn and practice hands-on fitting and styling under the personal guidance of our Certified euronaturals Educator while working on your own wigs and hairpieces.
